The Morrígan is a uniquely Celtic expression of the Life/Death/Rebirth trinity goddess, dating back from beyond the Copper Age. She's one part Kali Ma, one part Valkyrie, one part Oracle. She was warrior goddess, healer, wife, shapeshifter, protector of the Land and the king himself, traveller between worlds.  Her shapeshifting capacity included the embodiment of the wolf, crow, vulture, and eel. She had dominion over air, land, sea, fire, and the world of electrical impulse. Her domain is instinct, intuition, and the Spirit World. Her most sacred day is Samhain (pronounced soo-WEEN), and our Halloween celebrations still include many generous nods to her presence. The harvest was dedicated to her, and the Celtic celebrations honouring Ancestors fall to her.

**The Oxidized finish is back! Please note that this plated finish is plating, and is not a different metal. The finish is not permanent. The blackened finish will eventually wear, and will catch within the fine details of the wings. Flying Fox uses XL Gel to achieve the oxidized plating, and you can too if you wish! The directions are fairly straightforward, however the process will smell unpleasant.  Our advice? Use gloves to prevent yellow hands, use three dedicated mason jars (one for the sulphur solution, one for clear water, and one for the baking soda neutralizing solution), and plastic utensils to add and remove the jewelry ~ everyone's got plastic forks, right? *If you use stainless steel, your beautiful ring will be plated with a steely grey instead of black, and your utensils will be filled with sulphur.
