DETAILS

The Iemanjá: The largest three stone ring in Flying Fox's Mermaid Series, featuring undulating lines, and watery stones. Named for the Ifá and Candomblé archetypal goddess of the Ocean, Love, and Motherhood, and syncretized with the Virgin Mary, Iemanjá represents the Earth, the mother of us all. Penelope holds the dances, rhythms, and designs of Iemanjá in her repertoire from an eight year dance apprenticeship with an Afro Brazilian modern and traditional dance company. The spirit of the design rests in the same concepts of deep love and connection that the dance explores.

The Hekate Empress: Lucky 7 moonstones and topaz, custom set into an arcing chevron design with a lower wishbone than the original Empress. Elegance itself.  Moonstones traditionally symbolize love, fertility, and connection to the moon, the seas, and their collective tidal pull.

CARE

Moonstones require cleaning with a pearl cleaner, commonly purchased at any jewelry store counter. Absolutely no silver cleaner for stones, especially pearls and moonstone! Treating pearls/moonstone with a liver of sulphur to darken the metal will yield yellowed, cracking stones. A q-tip under the stones should safely remove any debris or buildup.

Silver is a softer metal that definitely requires a once per year prong tightening regime. Polishing is best accomplished with a yellow sunshine cloth, and a professional polish when needed.
