The Llyr: The smallest of Flying Fox's Three-Stone Mermaid Series, the Llyr's design is undulating and graceful, and achieves maximum impact with the Hekate Empress design. A nod to my jewelry predecessors, Llyr is the Welsh word for Sea, also refers to Mannon Mac Llyr, the animated spirit of the Sea itself in the world view of the Isle of Mann ~ two of our family tribes.

The Hekate Empress: Lucky 7 moonstones and topaz, custom set into an arcing chevron design with a lower wishbone than the original Empress. Elegance itself.  Moonstones traditionally symbolize love, fertility, and connection to the moon, the seas, and their collective tidal pull.

CARE

Moonstones require cleaning with a pearl cleaner, commonly purchased at any jewelry store counter. Absolutely no silver cleaner for stones, especially pearls and moonstone! Treating pearls/moonstone with a liver of sulphur to darken the metal will yield yellowed, cracking stones. A q-tip under the stones should safely remove any debris or buildup.

Silver is a softer metal that definitely requires a once per year prong tightening regime. Polishing is best accomplished with a yellow sunshine cloth, and a professional polish when needed.
